Aunjanae, a 6th grade student at Elitha Donner Elementary School in Elk Grove will receive a pleasant surprise on Wednesday, September 29th at 11:00 AM. Someone found the letter she released in a balloon as part of teacher, Dan Goldman’s 6th grade class writing project last month.

Not only will she receive a reply letter from Brandon Ferreira, the person who found her letter on the roof of the Access Information Management Sacramento record center, but she and her entire class will meet him and the Access Team in-person and receive a donation of much needed school supplies, including books.

“Aunjanae’s letter touched our organization and sparked an immediate response from the Access Sacramento team,” said David Gesinger, Executive Vice President, Access Information Management. “Given the limited resources that most schools have today, we reached out to see how we might be able to help. Together with 6th Grade Teacher, Dan Goldman, we came up with a list of items that would most impact his ability to create interesting and useful learning opportunities for Aunjanae and her classmates. We can’t wait to meet the class and present them with new books, supplies and treats!”

The Access Sacramento Team will make a presentation to Dan Goldman’s 6th Grade Class on Wednesday, September 29th at 11:00 AM. Teacher Dan Goldman and Principal, Michelle Jenkins helped with the planning, but for Aunjanae and the 6th grade class, it will be a surprise. Elitha Donner Elementary School is located at 9461 Soaring Oaks Drive, Elk Grove, CA.

What a wonderful, refreshing story about people helping the schools during these tough times when budgets are so tight and all happening from a message in a balloon. Took such a simple thing to get our attention too. So much for high-tech!
