Starting this week, the City of Elk Grove will be closing portions of Bilby Road, west of Willard Parkway, for roadway improvements related to the Taylor Morrison residential development known as “Franklin Crossing.”

When complete, the project will improve traffic flow and safety, add new sidewalks along a portion of Bilby Road and will extend Willard Parkway to the south.

Road and lane closures will take place on the following dates:
  • Beginning November 12: Full road closure of Bilby Road between Willard Parkway and the railroad tracks from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The road will reopen at 6 a.m. daily for traffic in both directions.
  • Starting November 20: A full road closure of Bilby Road between Willard Parkway and the railroad tracks. The road will remain closed to through traffic during this period and will reopen on or before 6 a.m. on November 29.
Remaining construction activities may require lane closures as needed throughout December.

Access to residences adjacent to the immediate area of work and through access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Detours will be clearly marked. Message signs will alert motorists in advance of the road and lane closures before construction begins. Residents and businesses in the vicinity will be notified in writing by the contractor.
