In his book “One Nation Under Dog,” author Michael Schaffer notes that our pets "live in a world of dog walkers and pet sitters and animal trainers and canine swim therapists and pet Reiki masseuses. . . . [a] baroque and endlessly subspecialized array of service providers."

As if to make a point, the City of Elk Grove will begin a series of animal control events and presentation tonight at city hall. Although the five sessions will cover all pets, tonight session will focus on proper doggie park etiquette.

Below is a list of all the session to be held over the next several weeks.

The Pros and Cons of Spaying or Neutering Your Pet

First Aid for Your Pet

April 3
Barking Dogs

May 1
Why Licensing Your Pet is Important to You, the City, and Most Important, to Your Pet
