A Bel Air grocery store employee was injured by two assailants during a shoplifting incident on Friday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, the store employee confronted two shoplifting suspects who had taken bottles of liquor as they attempted to leave the Laguna Blvd. store. When confronted, one of the suspects struck the victim in the mouth with one of the bottles.

The victim suffered a visible injury and a customer who was in store was also struck by the other suspect but was not injured. Both suspects ran out of the store and were last seen getting into the back seat of a 4-door Pontiac Bonneville, light gray or light blue in color.

The vehicle was occupied by two unidentified females. The suspects were described as Black male juveniles who wear wearing white t-shirts. Officers responded but were unable to locate the described vehicle.
