Sacramento LAFCO To Discuss Elk Grove SOI at Tonight's Meeting

The City of Elk Grove's on-going and often controversial Sphere of Influence Application (SOI) is on tonight's Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) agenda.

Sacramento LAFCO's aproval of the SOI is the initial and perhaps most important element of Elk Grove's expressed desire to someday annex thousands of acres that lie on the city's south side. Since the city has initiated the process, it has been a source of ongoing controversy.

At tonight's meeting the LAFCO commission will receive a report (see report here.) on the current status of the city's application and no action is required. Tonight's meeting starts at 5:30 at the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Chambers at 700 H Street.
