An Elk Grove man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he threatened relatives with a high powered rifle.

According to Elk Grove Police, 39-year old Phuong Le had previously lived with relatives at a residence of the 9700 block of Eagle Glen Way was contacted and asked to remove his belongs from the dwelling. During the conversation Le threatened to shoot the victim and his family.

After receiving the threat, the victim called police to report the incident. Prior to police arriving, the suspect reportedly arrived at the residence and gained entry with an extra key.

Once inside, Le pulled out a high powered rifle and threatened to shoot the occupants. The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to gain control of the weapon.

Responding officers took possession of the rifle which was found to be unloaded and arrested Le. The suspect was booked at the county jail where her remains in custody on a $50,000 bail.
