An Elk Grove man was arrested after he threatened a tow truck driver with a handgun.

According to police reports, a male tow truck operator was attempting to collect money for towing services from 40-year old Jorge Calderon. While the tow truck driver was standing at Calderon's car, the suspect grabbed a gun from the center console, chambered a round then pointed the gun toward the victim.

The driver fled the area and contacted EGPD. Responding officers contacted Calderon and located a gun inside the vehicle belonging to the suspect. The suspect's juvenile son was located in the back seat of the vehicle.

Calderon was arrested and taken to the county jail. The suspect's son was released to a relative.
