Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee Steve Ly acknowledged an extensive network of campaign workers and supporters during a thank you celebration Saturday afternoon.

Surrounded by several hundred well-wishers, Ly held a reception and thank you dinner at the Hmong Alliance Church in Elk Grove. Ly, who was elected to the EGUSD Board of Trustees last November, is believed to be the first person of Hmong decent to be elected to public office in Northern California.

Among local elected officials on hand were fellow EGUSD trustees Carmine Forcina and Bobby Singh-Allen; California Assembly Members Ken Cooley, Roger Dickinson and Dr. Richard Pan and Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis and Council Member Jim Cooper.

During his presentation Ly thanked the extensive network of campaign workers who helped him secure the seat.

"I want to thank all of you for helping." Ly said. "I couldn't have done this alone."

Interesting that Bobbie Singh-Allen was present. She was a staunch supporter of Steve Ly's opponent, fellow appointee to the EGUSD, Jake Rambo.

You sure can tell that Singh-Allen is jockeying for position to earn that seat she was appointed to in election 2014.

I find it more interesting that Assembly Members Pan, Dickinson and Cooley were there - what seats are they jockeying for? Looks like Mayor Davis has Ly running with the big dogs in the Dem party.
