Elk Grove Police arrested a fleeing man yesterday afternoon after he was suspected of shoplifting.

According to police reports, loss prevention personnel at the Elk Grove Blvd. Wal Wart observed 22-year old Leetron Frazier of Sacramento exit the store without paying for the merchandise. The store personnel approached the suspect who was uncooperative and when one of the employees attempted to place a 911 call, Frazier reportedly slapped the phone out of the employees hand and threw the merchandise on the ground.

When the store employee attempted to detain the suspect, the suspect punched the employee in the arm and fled in a vehicle later stopped d by Elk Grove Police on I-5 near Meadowview Road. Frazier was identified as the suspect being responsible for the crime.

Frazier was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
