Tomorrow Elk Grove will hold its annual Veterans Day Parade. As is tradition, the parade will start after 11 a.m. in commemoration of the treaty ending WW I which was signed on the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month. 

This year's parade will take a direct route north to south on Elk Grove-Florin Road (see map below). This years Grand Marshal will be Sophia Scherman, who as a former member of the Elk Grove City Council, has worked diligently on Veterans matters in the City.

Parade Street Closures:
  • Elk Grove Blvd will be closed to all traffic from Williamson Dr. to 3rd St.  All intersecting roads will be blocked.
     
  • Elk Grove Florin Rd. will be closed to all traffic from Halverson Dr. to the main entrance of Elk Grove Park.  All intersecting roads will be blocked.
     
  • Vehicles travelling Eastbound on Elk Grove Blvd. approaching Williamson Dr. will be diverted onto westbound Elk Grove Blvd.  Drivers are encouraged to use Bond Rd. as an alternate route. 
     
  • Vehicles travelling westbound on Elk Grove Blvd. approaching 3rd St. will be diverted onto eastbound Elk Grove Blvd.  Drivers are encouraged to use Bond Rd. as an alternate route. 
     
  • Vehicles travelling southbound on Elk Grove Florin Rd. approaching Halverson Dr. will be diverted onto Halverson Dr. or directed to make a U-Turn. 
     
  • All northbound traffic on Elk Grove Florin Rd. approaching the entrance to Elk Grove Park entrance will be diverted back onto southbound Elk Grove Florin Rd.
