The City of Elk Grove and Sacramento County will hold several community meetings in the coming weeks to seek input of Elk Grove's stated desire to annex unincorporated areas.

The first meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28 at the Edna Batey Elementary School located at 9421 Stonebrook Drive in Elk Grove.

Elk Grove seeks to expand it sphere of influence (SOI) be annexing large swath's of land to the city's east and south (see map). The community meetings are meant to hear public input on the proposed annexation.

One group, the Wilton Action Group (WAG), has already voiced opposition to the expansion. WAG views Elk Grove's move as an encroachment on the rural character of Wilton.

There will be three other meetings held in May.
